Real production AI for small businesses.
The DFW shop building actual shipped AI tools — not slide decks, not "AI strategy workshops." We've built dual-LLM marketing platforms, AI-powered bid engines, lead qualifiers, and PDF-parsing internal tools. Same playbook, your business.
Why most small businesses get AI wrong
The "AI agency down the street" sells you autonomous sales agents, generic chatbots, and "AI strategy" engagements that produce slide decks. None of it ships. None of it pays back. The actual game in 2026 is the opposite: focused AI integrations that solve one specific bottleneck inside an already-functional workflow.
We've shipped exactly that pattern. MSM Marketing Engine ships campaigns in 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes. Bearcat Estimator turns a 30-minute manual bid into a 15-second AI-parsed quote. Our own AI Lead Qualifier (yes — the one running on this site right now) scores every contact form submission and texts the analysis in under a minute.
What we actually build
Six categories of production AI work. Each is something we've shipped or could ship inside a week.
SHIPPED AI Lead Qualifier
Form submission → Claude scores 1–100 + drafts personalized reply + texts you the analysis. We run this on burnsbuilt.co itself. Going from "I'll respond within a business day" to "I responded in 8 minutes with a tailored quote" is the difference between losing leads and closing them.
SHIPPED AI bid engines / quote calculators
Customer emails a 12-page PDF (architectural plan, scope of work, RFP). Claude with vision extracts dimensions, materials, quantities into structured data. Your bid calculator runs the math against historical cost data. Output: an accurate bid in 15 seconds. Bearcat Estimator is the canonical example.
SHIPPED Dual-LLM marketing platforms
Every email goes to Claude and Gemini in parallel, gets scored against a heuristic rubric, and the higher-scoring draft is presented as primary with the alternate one click away. MSM Marketing Engine shipped 121 campaigns and 100,306 emails this way, with a 56.6% average open rate.
PROVEN Missed-call AI summarizer
Customer leaves a voicemail. AI listens, transcribes, and texts you a plain-English summary so you don't have to listen. Combined with missed-call text-back ("Hey, sorry we missed you"), most service businesses recover 30%+ of missed calls.
PROVEN Internal data analytics in plain English
Your customer database, invoicing, and campaign data wired into an LLM. Ask: "What's my best month-over-month trend? Which service has the highest margin? Which customer hasn't booked in 6 months?" Get actual answers from your real data, in 30 seconds, from your phone.
PROVEN Customer support chatbot (with guardrails)
Chat widget on your site that answers FAQs using your actual content. Bounded — only answers from your knowledge base, escalates to a form fill or call when it can't. Handles 80%+ of the common questions, frees you up for the ones that need a human.

How it works
1. 20-min audit call
You describe the repetitive task that's bothering you. We tell you in plain English whether AI can fix it, what it'd cost, and whether you're ready (per the automation-then-AI framework). Free.
2. Fixed quote in 24 hours
If we're a fit, you get a written scope and fixed quote — no hourly billing, no surprises. We tell you exactly what's included and what's out of scope.
3. Build & ship
Single-feature builds: 1–2 weeks. Multi-feature: 2–4 weeks. Custom platforms: 3–8 weeks. You see staging links throughout. We don't ship blind.
Frequently asked
What kinds of AI tools do you actually build?
Production-grade AI integrations for specific business problems: lead qualification (we run our own — see the AI Lead Qualifier), automated customer response drafting, PDF/document parsing for quotes and invoices, custom CRMs with natural-language search, internal analytics chatbots, and dual-LLM ensemble marketing platforms. We don't build generic chatbots or "AI sales agents" — those don't work in production.
Which AI models do you use?
Anthropic Claude (Sonnet 4.5/4.6/4.7 for nuanced work, Haiku for cheap classification), Google Gemini (Pro for multimodal, Flash for high-volume), and OpenAI when fit-for-purpose. For most small-business use cases Claude Sonnet is the right default — about $0.005 per typical API call. Most of our internal tools (MSM Marketing Engine) use a dual-LLM ensemble, calling two models in parallel and presenting the higher-scoring output.
How much does an AI feature cost to build and run?
Setup: $500 for a single-feature integration (e.g. AI lead qualifier), $1,500–$5,000 for multi-feature workflows, $5,000+ for full custom AI platforms like MSM Marketing Engine. Variable cost: typically $5–$50/month in API fees for most small business volumes. A 100-lead/month operation running an AI lead qualifier costs about $1.30 in Claude API fees.
Do I need to be technical to use what you build?
No. Every AI tool we build runs in the background of your existing workflow. Lead qualifier fires when your form gets a submission. PDF parser runs when a customer emails you a quote request. You don't "use" AI — the AI is just there, doing the work invisibly. The only thing you "use" is the output: a drafted email, a scored lead, a parsed bid.
How are you different from the "AI agency" down the street?
Three differences. First, we build for small businesses, not enterprise — our pricing reflects that ($500–$10K, not $50K+). Second, we ship working AI in production, not slide decks (see MSM Marketing Engine: 100,306 emails sent, 56.6% open rate). Third, we don't sell autonomous "AI sales agents" or magic chatbots — we build focused integrations that solve specific bottlenecks with humans still in the loop.
What's the AI feature you'd actually use?
Tell us the repetitive task eating your week. We'll tell you in 24 hours whether AI can fix it, what it'd cost, and whether you're ready.
